The new OptimalFlux™ technology reduces heat buildup in AC induction motors for applications with constant torque and variable speed, by optimizing motor flow levels across the operating speed range. The control method is used in standard fan-cooled fully enclosed induction motors (TEFC), which required an inverter. It is ideal for controlling loads that require constant torque and variable speed, as in the case of compressors and conveyor belts. The use of lower temperatures throughout the entire speed range doubles the operating life of the engines. The technology is currently offered as an option in standard CFW09 WEG variable frequency controllers, and can be used with standard NHE or NPE WEG motors from 1 to 300 HP.
