The Vari-Green is a new high-efficiency direct current brushless motor (featuring electronic switching) that operates a single-phase 115-volt input. Quietly operating, it cools less and offers greater efficiencies with greater capacities for speed control, according to the manufacturer. It can operate from 20 to 100% of its speed (80% regulation) full speed versus 70% to 100% (30% regulation) for PSC motors. The motor is offered in sizes of 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 horsepower and features three control options: 0-10 VDC input wiring, selector button installed on a motor, or selector button installed on a wall. It can be ordered with the direct drive fan models G, CUE, CW and SQ, and more models are planned to be introduced in the future.
