Endesa has installed the first charging point for electric vehicles that is located on public roads in the city of Malaga, which was visited on Monday by the Councilor for Sustainability of the City Council of the capital, Teresa Porras, and the director of Endesa of the Andalusia Center Division, Alfredo Rodríguez.
This pole, which is adapted to fully charge a vehicle of these characteristics in eight hours, will be the first of the ten planned in the area of the Antonio Banderas promenade. In addition, although the pilot demonstrations cover a very large area, the project foresees a greater concentration in the surroundings of number 28 of this promenade, located in front of the Provincial Council.
For his part, Rodríguez told journalists that "in order to promote the use of this type of vehicle in our city, the requests that occur will be met by facilitating their use to users who own electric vehicles who request it at endesa's offices."
Thus, they have indicated that this is one of the multiple pilot demonstrations that the Smartcity project foresees in that area. At this point, they recalled that Smartcity is the initiative led by Endesa and promoted by a group of 11 companies and 14 research organizations that proposes a new model of energy management in cities to achieve an increase in energy efficiency, a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions and an increase in the consumption of renewable energies.
The project is developed in Malaga, specifically on the new promenade, and it will benefit at least 300 industrial users, 900 services and 12,000 domestic users, they have pointed out, while pointing out that the pilot demonstration phase "is going at a good pace and a series of actions have already been executed, in addition to the installation of the charging post".
Among them, they have highlighted the installation of a new demonstration transformation center, the replacement of conventional lamps by others with LED technology on the Pilar Miró boulevard, as well as the execution, by the City Council, of two photovoltaic installations on pergolas of the promenade that can be used by the project.
SIGNING AGREEMENT
On November 12, a collaboration agreement was signed between the Consistory and Endesa in order to coordinate the actions that the Smartcity Málaga project foresees to be executed on public roads.
This agreement contemplates that all the elements that occupy the public space, both new and modified, are identified and that they have information so that citizens know the scope of these pilot demonstrations.
With this objective, a contest for the decoration of seven transformation centers has been held over the weekend, including the one that has also been visited this Monday, as they have pointed out.
FUTURE ACTIONS
In addition to the actions that have been presented, in the near future the rest of the planned demonstrations will be executed. In this way, the regulation and remote operation of 120 luminaires with control from a command center in Calle Pacífico or the installation of wind microgenerators on nine luminaires on the Antonio Banderas promenade will be carried out.
Likewise, the placement of photovoltaic collectors on 10 luminaires of this last enclave will be executed, as well as the replacement of lamps by others of LED type and metal halide in 60 luminaires of this walk, with tele control point to point of each lamp for its operation and regulation, or the implementation of a mini-wind generator.
In the same way, it will proceed to the installation of a series of batteries for the storage of electricity, the adaptation of a new type of integrated command center for the control of public services --public lighting, video surveillance, communications, among others--, or the modification of 70 transformation centers, installing on them a broadband PLC communications network and new automation systems that will improve the quality of the service.
