The acting president of Cantabria, Miguel Ángel Revilla, believes that it would be a "very serious mistake" on the part of the next Government to cancel the wind tender awarded by the current Executive, because the "future" of the region is in renewable energies.
The regionalist leader has pronounced himself in response to questions from journalists about the intention of the president of the PP and future regional president, Ignacio Diego, to cancel the contest.
"We started badly", lamented Revilla, who stressed that "the future of Spain and Cantabria" is in a "new era" that means "the change from coal and oil to renewable energies, science and innovation".
As he says, "that is the future", because Spain "can not continue to pay 40,000 million euros a year in oil" and also opens an opportunity to change a productive system, based "only" on the "brick and tourism", which has been the "culprit" of the current crisis.
In his opinion, the bet that Cantabria has made in this regard, for the change of model and renewable energies, is "the right one, it is the one recommended by the world, and it would be very serious" for the new Government "to stop something that is the future" and will be the "largest source of employment" in Cantabria.
However, Revilla has acknowledged that now who will have the "power" to govern Cantabria is the PP, and the PRC, for its part, what it will do is "applaud what they do well and criticize" what they think "is a mistake." (EUROPA PRESS)
