According to the "Guinness Book of Records" in the city of Algarrobo, in the hotel complex of San Alfonso del Mar, Chile is the largest swimming pool in the world and one of the most innovative tourist real estate in all of South America.
The pool covers an area of 8 hectares, measures more than 1 km long and has more than 250,000 cubic meters (tons) of seawater. To give us an idea of the large size it has is as if we put together 6 thousand conventional pools of 8 meters long.
The company "Cristal Lagoons" was in charge of developing the technology and infrastructure of this great pool, they capture the ocean water then filter it so that it reaches the transparent pool area and with a turquoise color equal to that of the Caribbean Sea. In the process they also heat the water to keep it at a comfortable temperature 365 days a year.
