The former CEO of Unión Fenosa Honorato López Isla has been appointed president of the renewable energy group Alarde, a subsidiary of Novacaixagalicia, sources from the Galician bank told Europa Press.
This appointment represents the return of López Isla to executive functions within the energy sector after in May 2009 he left the management of Unión Fenosa in the hands of Rafael Villaseca, following its acquisition by Gas Natural.
Since that time, the director has limited his relationship with the sector to his appointment as a director of T-Solar, despite the fact that his name appeared in the pools as a substitute for Pedro Rivero at the head of the Spanish Association of the Electrical Industry (Unesa).
López Isla, born in Ourense in 1947, is a Civil Engineer from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Madrid, and a degree in Senior Management (PDG) from IESE. Since 1972 he has been linked to Unión Fenosa, whose board of directors he acceded to in 1994.
The newspaper 'Cinco Días', which advances the appointment of López Isla, explains that Alarde will process and develop the megawatts (MW) wind power awarded to the entity in the Galician tender, which amount to 131 between Galenova (Caixanova) and Torre de Hércules (Caixa Galicia). In addition, the fund has an indirect stake in Norvento, which has received 303 megawatts. (EUROPA PRESS)
