The Association of Promoters and Producers of Renewable Energies of Andalusia (Aprean) has shown its "satisfaction" for the decision of the Junta de Andalucía to return to the wind developers the guarantees they had deposited with the Andalusian Administration, by participating in the prioritization contest within the Order of February 29, 2008 (500 megawatts), "and that they had been left without a reason to exist as a result of the emergence of a new state mechanism of pre-allocation."
In a note, Aprean recalls his claim of this measure to the Andalusian Government, so he values an agreement that will allow wind developers, as long as the state call is not resolved, "to alleviate the financial burdens in times of need not only due to the generalized economic crisis but also due to the paralysis that affects the sector as a result of the current normative and regulatory indefinition", according to the president of the association, Mariano Barroso.
Thus, he highlighted the "sensitivity" shown by the Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Science and its "collaborative disposition" with Andalusian wind companies, by including the necessary modifications in the Order of February 29, 2008, regulating the last regional call for prioritization resolved in February 2009, which allow the return of the guarantees deposited by the promoters.
At the same time, the president of APREAN has asked the Andalusian Government to "as soon as possible publish the new Andalusian wind tender for the allocation of new megawatts that allow Andalusia to continue with the millionaire investments and the generation of employment that these projects imply and thus continue to promote the leadership position that Andalusia has to occupy in this segment of the economy".
Barroso stressed that "Andalusian companies are prepared to undertake the new developments necessary for Andalusia to meet the objectives set out in the Andalusian Energy Sustainability Plan (Pasener), for which it is essential that the approval of the new wind energy tender be carried out with the greatest possible urgency".
