Ambassador Patricia Espinosa Cantellano, President of COP16/CMP6, stated that civil society and the whole world in general have a great interest in the issues of climate change and sustainable development.
In the Monarch room located in the Cancunmesse headquarters several world leaders spoke about climate change and its link with women, Mary Robinson acted as moderator, Foreign Minister Patricia Espinosa Cantellano, invited participants to include women in the negotiations in favor of climate justice.
Felipe Calderón Hinojosa, President of Mexico participated today in the summit at the conference Sustainable Housing Strategies and Achievements, where the issue of housing in the context of climate change was discussed.
Juan Rafael Elvira Quesada, Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources of Mexico commented on "the reduction of emissions of polluting gases, lower water consumption and the use of green technologies are beneficial actions for both the environment and companies", and Patricia Espinosa Cantellano commented that "An effective response to climate change requires society as a whole. Not only from governments, but also from public and private groups, including the business sector and civil societies."
