The heat pump with its COP saves up to 70% of energy, according to the most serious studies. We have a high performance technology: heat pumps with COP of 3 or 4, heat pumps that offer high temperature heat, up to 60 ° C, with Inverter technology ... the highest performance refrigerants, compressors and high-quality components...
But how can the heat pump have a more efficient role, without an orchestra conductor, without an advanced and intelligent control system that is aware that every "kWh" is important? Without a system that continuously analyzes the outside temperature, that manages the application of hot water, etc ...
And on the other hand, don't turn on the extra resistance too soon to prevent ice formation—without saying goodbye to economics and "advertising savings" of up to 70% energy.
What the installer should consider
It is necessary that the electronics of the heat pump are the center of the installer's concerns. This is the key point of energy efficiency linked to generators such as the heat pump. Multiple scenarios arise on a day-to-day basis and throughout the year. Punctual demands of domestic hot water, night reduction and time scheduling, cold points with negative temperatures, need for cooling ... There are several types of installations that can be combined with a heat pump. The replacement of boilers, by heaters and hot water accumulators as support; likewise the emitters can be of the radiator type, or by underfloor heating at low temperature, or also fan coil type units ...
There are pumps for different types of installations that can be pre-programmed in the control systems of heat pumps. Some heat pumps are of the air/water type or the water/water type, in all of which the control system adapts to the necessary configuration to perform the most efficient installation.
For example, consider the scenario that allows cooling and domestic hot water. During operation in cooling mode, units equipped with recovery system are able to recover heat that would otherwise disperse to the outside, using it to heat hot water, the production of which will in this case be completely free!
