The National Association of Self-Service and Department Stores (ANTAD) said comparable sales (units with more than a year in operation) of its affiliates in Mexico grew 3.3% year-on-year in September.
According to the association, the increase is mainly due to a strong performance of department stores in the face of the approach of the Christmas season.
ANTAD brings together a hundred of the country's leading retailers, including Walmart de Mexico. The market leader said its partners' total sales grew 9.4% in September, supported by the expansion of the sales area.
