The Association of Cold Companies and their Technologies -Aefyt- has published the Guide for the Improvement of the Energy Efficiency of Refrigeration Facilities, which seeks to collaborate in the optimization of cooling processes in everything related to energy saving to respond to both the demands of industry and society.
The manual is a practical guide to measures that can be taken to reduce energy consumption in refrigeration facilities for the design and execution of new installations, the modifications of existing installations and their maintenance. Throughout its 11 chapters and 4 annexes, it makes an exhaustive tour of issues such as the estimation of the technical load, the choice of the type of refrigerant and the refrigeration system, the selection of components or control strategies to reduce energy consumption, among others. In addition, it offers financial, investment and life cycle calculation methods.
The manual published by AEFYT aims to provide ideas to reduce the costs of energy consumed in this type of installation with the material means available and experienced in the market, that is, without resorting to new developments and research.
