International. During the last Chillventa in Germany, the initiative known as eurammon, made up of companies, institutions and individuals that advocate increasing the use of natural refrigerants, presented its vision on how this market evolves in some countries and regions.
On South America, Paul Bishop, chairman of the committee of the International Institute for Ammonia Refrigeration (Iiar) spoke about the situation in this regard. "Our goal in this market is to show the solutions that are available to the sector and the aspects that need to be taken into account when working with natural refrigerants."
The executive said that the institute's initiatives in this region focus on the transfer of technical knowledge and training, since, according to Bishop, in South America there is a huge interest in natural refrigerants. "Considering that applications for ammonia are comparatively common, the use of CO2, for example, is not yet widespread. This means that there is still great growth potential in this market."
The presentation of eurammon also indicates that in other markets such as India, the use of natural refrigerants is being promoted through legislation. A similar situation occurs in Australia, where they regulate harmful emissions and increase the implementation of energy efficiency.
The industry's own initiatives have also led to the growth of this class of refrigerants, especially in sectors such as supermarkets and industrial applications.
