International. There are currently around 11,250 buildings in the world that have LEED Certification, which means more than 185 million m2, according to the Spain Building Council.
Additionally, some 25,215 buildings globally, that is, more than 650 million m2, are in the process of achieving the recognized LEED Certification.
The U.S. Green Building Council, which leads this recognition program, certifies daily more than 186,000 m2 of corporate, residential, industrial, commercial and institutional buildings in more than 130 countries.
The latest report indicates that last July more than 300 buildings in about 20 countries were LEED certified.
