According to the calculations related to the year 2010, these indicate that the photovoltaic source needs between 2.2% and 4.5% more investment and that this trend would also be maintained until 2020 with a value between 17% and 3.4% above the wind energy.
In Brazil, alongside other nations such as India and Thailand, wind energy has a much higher cost than countries like Egypt. In Nicaragua, on the other hand, the value would be low or none.
During a 2010 United Nations conference on climate change, the creation of the Green Climate Fund was established, an organization that expects to raise about US$100 million annually by 2020.
