Paraguay. Recently, the Ozone Unit of the Secretariat of the Environment (SEAM) of Paraguay held an international seminar with the aim of training a group of technicians from the refrigeration sector in the use of gases not harmful to the environment and, in this way, comply with the guidelines of the Montreal Treaty.
With the event, which was held at the Hotel del Paraguay, the commitment of the Paraguayan authorities to reduce polluting gases in the ozone layer and replace them with ecological alternative gases in refrigeration and air conditioning equipment was confirmed.
As explained by the director of Quality Control of the SEAM, Ulises Lovera, regenerating the ozone layer will be possible with the use of alternative gases such as hydrocarbons.
The official also announced that from 2012 this country will have a new import regime for equipment and systems that use refrigerant gases.
