Isover is one of the first six companies to receive the new Environmental Declarations of Construction Products (DAPc) that, known as type III environmental labels, analyze the manufacturing process of a product according to the Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) methodology to obtain its detailed environmental impacts.
The product worthy of this distinction is Isover ECO 50D , a compact glass wool panel specially designed to provide optimal thermal and acoustic insulation in façade enclosures, with masonry chamber or plasterboard tiles that do not require a vapor barrier. The DAPc guarantees that this product generates a minimum environmental impact throughout its life.
The delivery of the first DAPc took place on October 28 at a ceremony held at the headquarters of the Department of Environment and Housing of the Generalitat. The event was chaired by the General Director of Environmental Quality of the Generalitat, Maria Comellas, the General Director of Quality in Building and Rehabilitation of Housing, Núria Pedrals and the President of the Col•legi d'Aparelladors, Arquitectes Tècnics i Enginyers d'Edificació de Barcelona (CAATEEB), María Rosa Remolà
Type III environmental labels, based on product life cycle analysis, are being implemented internationally and will become a measurement value of any product. They are a tool to measure the ecological impact of the products and services offered by companies in the construction sector.
With the creation of this system, an environmental database of construction products will be obtained, with quantifiable values of impacts and consumption related to the manufacture of a given product. The objective is that technicians have a product database with reliable and verified values that can be used to carry out their professional activities related to the impacts of buildings.

Isover belongs to the SAINT-GOBAIN group, world leader in Habitat with innovative, energy-efficient solutions that contribute to environmental protection, and number 1 in the manufacture of insulating materials in the world. It offers the most complete range of mineral wool solutions, both thermal and acoustic or fire protection. It has production facilities in Azuqueca de Henares (Guadalajara) and has 12 commercial delegations in Spain and two in Portugal.
