The Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources, Juan Rafael Elvira Quesada, explained that with the CFC elimination program in the production of metered-dose inhalers, it will be possible to cancel a remnant of 90 tons of chlorofluorocarbons, which are equivalent to the emission into the atmosphere of almost 800 thousand tons of CO2.
Among the government's measures to help mitigate climate change are also the courses provided to five thousand 500 refrigeration technicians, and the delivery of 41 refrigerant equipment to the technicians of CETIS 14, in Guadalajara, for having complied with the Training Program in good refrigeration practices.
The secretary of this portfolio commented that in these processes more than US$5 million donated by the Montreal Protocol were invested, in addition to the support of UNIDO, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.
The country will continue to work for the environment, so much so that it has begun the process of eliminating Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs), the second generation of refrigerants and substitutes for CFCs.
