Mexico. Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) is leading an initiative to evaluate opportunities for the advancement of energy-efficient cooling technologies in the country.
The announcement was made by Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) Latam. According to this organization, this project is specifically focused on mini-split air conditioners and seeks "collaboration with manufacturers interested in exploring supply chain relocation opportunities, while analyzing the current supply chain, evaluating the costs and impacts of efficiency improvements, and develop recommendations for the possible harmonization of standards and mechanisms to support supply chain resilience and diversification."
Manufacturers interested in participating should contact Virginie Letschert, a policy researcher at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory who has more than a decade of experience in efficiency policy and international program development. At Berkeley Lab, Virginie leads international collaborations and technical assistance activities, working closely with experts and policymakers to increase the ambition of efficiency programs and support the development of net-zero emissions pathways around the world.
