International. Advansor's new solution seeks to position itself as a sustainable alternative to heating systems based on fossil fuels.
Advansor launched the ValueBox, the first version of the new plug-and-play heat pump, in 2024. The new version, the ValueBox Combi, is a reversible model that provides heating and cooling at the same time.
The plug-and-play unit is supplied in factory-assembled and tested equipment, in a single rack and with pre-programmed controllers. It is ready to replace oil or gas heating boilers in a wide variety of applications such as commercial buildings, district heating and factories.
Advansor's CEO, Kristian Breitenbauch, explains: "The lack of qualified personnel on site is a well-known problem in Europe. Advansor's plug-and-play CO2 heat pumps are based on proven technology, require no safety risk management, and are fully assembled and tested at the factory. You just need to connect the water and electricity and it will be ready to go. Installation is done in a day or two, leaving time to install more heat pumps and accelerate the green transition and, with capacities of 200-700 in a single unit and up to 5 MW or more in parallel, I think it could be the largest plug-and-play CO2 heat pump in the world."
The heat pump has a high coefficient of performance (COP) even under conditions that require significant temperature differences, which allows for reduced pipe size and energy consumption. By effectively doubling the delta T, the system can minimize water circulation needs, resulting in substantial energy savings. The reversible heat pump is very energy-efficient, reusing heat or cooling instead of producing it, and it is not unusual to get a combined COP above 5.
Equipped with a temperature profile capable of reaching water inlet temperatures of +40°C and water outlet temperatures of +95°C, and with the ability to reuse existing pipes, the ValueBox can effectively replace conventional fossil fuel boilers and chillers with a noticeably lower impact compared to a heat pump combined with a standalone chiller unit. This makes it ideal for both renovations and new constructions.
"Our CO2 heat pumps are supplied with standardised controllers pre-programmed for heat pump applications, so no additional controls are needed. The MODBUS ensures optimal control and monitoring with seamless integration with other systems," said Advansor's Chief Technology Officer, Kenneth Bank Madsen.
