Daikin celebrates its first century of business life

International. During a memorial ceremony held on Tuesday, May 21 at The Symphony Hall (Kita-ku, Osaka), Daikin Industries celebrated the 100th anniversary of its founding.

The event was attended by approximately 2,000 people, including distinguished guests, business partners and Daikin Group employees from Japan and abroad.

During the ceremony, company representatives expressed their gratitude to all those who have supported Daikin and pledged to continue the company's growth and development for the next 100 years.

"From a small factory of 15 people in our early days, we have transformed Daikin into a global company with operations in more than 170 countries worldwide, and I am personally aware of how far we have come," said Noriyuki Inoue, Chairman of the Board and Global Group Director.

Inoue also expressed his expectations for future growth, mentioning that "in the spirit of learning from the past and applying those lessons to the future, we want to continue to refine our technological capabilities, which are the vital essence for a manufacturer, and contribute to society through our technology."

Now, we have the opportunity for a fresh start to continue to evolve these strengths," said Masanori Togawa, President and CEO.

Togawa also expressed its determination for future growth, stating that "Daikin will continue in the future to be a corporate group that grows by satisfying customers and earning their trust, while working to increase environmental and social value and contribute to the creation of a new society."

To further commemorate its anniversary in 2024, Daikin will work to strengthen support for its Forests for the Air project across seven global locations. In addition, it will review the group's philosophy and convene a Daikin Group management meeting, where approximately 300 senior managers will meet to discuss management issues and update the company's work uniforms in its manufacturing plants.
