International. For the ninth time in a row, Japanese manufacturer Daikin is singled out by Clarivate, a renowned global information services provider headquartered in the United Kingdom.
For the past 13 years, Clarivate has analyzed patent data to identify the top 100 companies and research institutions to recognize them for their innovation.
Eligible organizations are selected based on the number of innovations filed since 2000 and patents granted within a five-year period. The top 100 companies are then chosen based on their scores on metrics such as Influence, Success, Investment and Rarity.
Intellectual property
To strategically promote intellectual property (IP) activities, Daikin establishes and strengthens portfolios that contribute to its organization, shares information and the results of market trend analysis in cooperation with the Research & Development and Sales Departments, as well as with senior management.
The company is currently working to strengthen research and development on a global scale in order to achieve its Fusion 25 strategic management plan, which aims to achieve carbon neutrality, promote customer-connected solutions businesses, and create value with air quality.
In addition to acquiring rights and preventing infringement of other companies' intellectual property rights, Daikin said it will continue to contribute to its business through the creation of intellectual properties through partnerships with industry and academia, establishing a network of other companies and researchers by granting free access to its proprietary technologies.
