Argentina. The Argentina Chapter of ASHRAE confirmed Pablo Echevarría as the new president for the period of 2020-2021, replacing Guillermo Massucco, who was leading the chapter for the last two years.
"It is an honor for me to have been appointed to this position, I hope to live up to it and be able to collaborate to continue strengthening ASHRAE and the Argentine Chapter. The circumstances are very different from what I imagined a year ago when they proposed it to me. The pandemic that broke out in recent months changed the world and our way of working from one day to the next. I am proud to have seen that the Argentine Chapter of ASHRAE rose to the occasion and from day one was working on the issue: In February and March debating internally from the documents prepared by ASHRAE and working to adapt them to the local situation. In April the fruits of that work were seen, first in the Bolivia Section and then in the seminar provided for the entire chapter. The challenge now is to continue making ASHRAE the benchmark in terms of Indoor Air Quality during the reopening and normalization of activities during the coming months," said Pablo.
Pablo also highlighted the importance of working with students: "We have many student members, we must provide them with the tools and opportunities so that they discover the wonders of this profession and can integrate and grow in the world of work as easily as possible."
