Mexico. The Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí and the company Daikin Applied agreed to promote the training and preparation of future professionals, as well as increase their participation in the development of Information Technology projects. The collaboration agreement they signed will allow the development of a Dual Training program between the company and the university.
Roberto Albores, Director of Human Resources Daikin Mexico, commented in his message that the company requires highly trained human capital and prepared to work in global environments, the above, given that Daikin is one of the largest air conditioning, heating, ventilation and refrigeration company worldwide. For his part, Bill Nelson, Engineering Processes Director of Daikin Applied stressed the importance of the strategic relationship between the UPSLP and the company for the training of talent.
Bill Nelson and the rector of the Polytechnic University, Francisco Javier Delgado Rojas, led the act for the signing of the agreement, which was the product of the relationship between the University and the company since 2013. The event was witnessed by Rafael Rostro Contreras Academic Vice-Rector, Francisco Cruz Ordaz Coordinator of the Engineering Programs in Information Technologies and Telematics Engineering; Dan Halvorson, Controls Director, José Andrade MEDC Controls Manager and Roberto Albores Director of Human Resources. The signing of this agreement will promote the training of specialists for software development.
The rector of the UPSLP, Francisco Javier Delgado Rojas, highlighted in his message the importance of the start of the University-Business Training Program or Dual Program for the Educational Programs of Telematics and Information Technologies, as well as the importance of the collaboration with Daikin to guarantee the incorporation into the labor market of students at the end of their training n, as well as the possibility of academic mobility as part of the training that the company will provide.
As part of the event, the unveiling of a laudatory plaque of the company was held at the UPSLP Linking Wall. At the end of the event, the executives visited the spaces that the company will occupy in the Center for New Technologies (CNT) in which the Mexico Engineering and Design Center area will operate and in which the students who participate in the University-Business Training Program will be incorporated. This space was promoted by Dr. Rómulo Guzmán, Controls Development Supervisor and José Andrade, Controls Manager of Daikin Applied, who worked and developed this project since 2018.
