Argentina. Within the framework of the policies to promote renewable energies, the Las Lomitas Solar Park was recently inaugurated in the province of San Juan.
"The world is changing, Argentina is changing in a lot of ways. One of them is how we provide ourselves with energy and how we give sustainability to the planet from renewable energies. We are in a transition of the energy matrix, different from what we are used to," said the Secretary of Energy of the Nation Javier Iguacel at the opening of Airec Week 2018.
The photovoltaic park, which has 13.97 components of national industry, required an investment of US $ 2,120,000, has an installed capacity of 1.7 MW and provides electricity to more than 1,000 homes.
For its start-up, the supply contract was signed with the company Cammesa on May 18, 2017, whose commercial operation began on September 25 of this year.
During the opening ceremony were present the governor of San Juan, Sergio Uñac; the Undersecretary of Renewable Energies, Sebastián Kind; the mayor of Albardón, Juan Carlos Abarca, and Marcelo Rodríguez, president of Latinoamericana de Energía S. A, company that carried out the work.
Currently, there are 88 renewable energy projects under development -between commercial operation and construction- in Argentina, which is equivalent to 3,191 MW of power and representing US$4,575 million of investment.
Already in commercial operation are 16 projects for 348 MW of power, and an investment of almost US$500 million. The other 72 projects are under construction for 2,843 MW, representing US$4,076 million of investment.
