International. Daikin America, Inc., a subsidiary of Daikin Industries, Ltd. Specializing in chemicals, announces Creard as Daikin's brand of low global warming (GWP) products. The Creard brand will be used for refrigerants, blowing agents, solvents and propellants.
Daikin Creard R-407H has been included in the U.S. EPA SNAP Program for use in retail food refrigeration for remote condenser applications including convenience stores, bakeries, supermarkets, restaurants and other systems that operate between 0.3 and 5.7 tons of cooling and reject heat out of the evaporative environment.
The refrigerant R-407H, which has about 62% lower global warming potential (GWP) than the refrigerant R-404A commonly used today, based on tests conducted by several equipment manufacturers and the university, has been shown to be equivalent in low temperature and improvement in average temperature in efficiency (COP). In addition, the R-407H has a working pressure similar to the R-404A and can be considered as an alternative to achieve an economical retrofit with limited modifications.
R-407H is a non-ozone-depleting refrigerant with a GWP of 1495, and has been classified by ASHRAE in the same safety group as R-404A, "A1: Lower Toxicity, No Flame Propagating Refrigerant."
