Mexico. This Thursday, February 15, the "Summit on Needs and Opportunities in research on the Energy Impact of Air Conditioning Use in Mexico" will begin, a two-day event that will be held at the House of the University of California Del Carmen 1, Mexico City.
The objective of this summit is to discuss the impact of the growing demand for electricity from the use of air conditioning on Mexico's energy landscape, in addition to identifying potential to reduce waste, barriers to the implementation of new policies and emerging opportunities for collaboration in R&D.
The workshop is part of Mexico's Cooling Initiative, a high-impact, research-oriented effort that seeks to raise awareness of the importance of the issue, support effective goals, and develop an action plan to design and implement energy policies and air cooling technologies.
Plenary meetings will begin at 9:00 a.m. The workshop is presented in coordination with the Ministry of Energy (SENER) and the National Commission for the Efficient Use of Energy (CONUEE).
