Chile. The National Institute of Standardization (INN) announced that these days it is in the process of developing two Chilean Technical Standards (NCh), which will regulate the work of the area of air conditioning in the South American country.
The work was developed by the committee led by Marly López, from the INN's standards division, and used as a basis the proposal developed and led by Germán Fuentes, from the Ministry of the Environment. The Institute confirmed that the new standards are in the technical committee stage and they hope to be able to conclude them by the end of this year.
The new Chilean Technical Standards will be:
- prNCh3241 - Good practices in refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
- prNCh3301 - Good practices in refrigeration and air conditioning systems using flammable refrigerants.
The committee confirmed that for the realization of the new standards, ISO 5149-1:2014, ISO 817:2014, ANSI ASHRAE 15 and NCh 3242:2011 were used as a reference.
