Mexico. The Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) announced the result of the tender it made days ago for the acquisition of air conditioning equipment. 102 of the 112 items offered for the acquisition of air conditioning equipment 2017 were awarded to 8 participating companies.
With this tender, the institute generated savings of 160.8 million pesos, as well as better conditions in the requested equipment. The measure will benefit 27 First Level Medical Units, 38 Second Level Medical Units, 8 Third Level Medical Units, 16 Administrative Buildings and 5 Service Centers in 25 Delegations and 9 UMAE's.
In accordance with the objective of providing quality and warm services for its beneficiaries, the IMSS promotes the renewal of equipment aimed at guaranteeing efficient services in medical and sports units, among which air conditioning equipment for medical units, Ice Water Generators, Package Equipment, Condensers, Direct Expansion Split Equipment, Cooling Towers, Air Handlers and Fan and Coil.
In this sense, on August 1, the international public tender was published in COMPRANET under treaties LA-019GYR040-E6-2017 for the acquisition of air conditioning equipment for 74 medical units of 24 delegations, 9 High Spatiality Medical Units and 14 Central Level buildings.
The requirement of this tender was structured in 112 items corresponding to 295 teams of various sizes, according to the needs detected in the various medical units nationwide. As a result of this process, the IMSS reports the failure of said tender with the following results:
In the bidding procedure, 102 of the 112 tendered items were awarded, for an amount of 355.8 million pesos.
A total of 338 bids were received from 17 companies, among which 9 are grouped into 3 consortia.
This made it possible to award 247 of the 295 teams tendered, in favour of 8 of the participating consortia.
