Brazil. In the South American country, companies in the refrigeration, ventilation and air conditioning segments are betting on technology as an ally to try to maintain sales at reasonable levels, even facing a scenario of economic slowdown.
What attracts consumers is that new technologies such as the Inverter system, brings a significant reduction in electricity consumption. Experts from Asbrav – Southern Brazilian Association of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Heating and Ventilation point out that the economy in consumption can reach up to 60% compared to a traditional system.
"We perceive on average a reduction in sales volume of approximately 15% compared to 2014. During the summer months, we expect to try to maintain the same sales levels. We know that if there is an investment in this economic environment, it will not be soon. So we work to reduce costs when possible and try to demonstrate that to the consumer," said Dufrio business manager John Kist.
Another factor that impacted sales is the rise of the dollar, which has left equipment with more expensive values. It is estimated that the price has increased by up to 25%. This will be the first year that Inverter technology will be massively offered to the population for residential use.
