Chile. Between October 7 and 9, the International Fair of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energies, Genera Latinoamérica 2015, was held in the city of Santiago de Chile. Simultaneously, the Matelec Latin America 2015 fair, 1st, was held. Hall of Solutions for the Electrical and Electronics Industry.
In the opening ceremony of the main fairs dedicated to the sector of the electrical, electronics, renewable energies and energy efficiency industry, the President of the Association of the Electrical-Electronic Industry of Chile (AIE), Juan Menchaca; the Director of International Expansion of IFEMA, Madrid, Santiago Quiroga and the Director of Matelec Spain, Raúl Calleja, as well as the President of Fisa, Andrés Van Wersch, among other national and foreign authorities.
Arriaza explained that Chile faces the short, medium and long-term challenge of having sufficient and competitive energy resources to achieve development in the coming decades, which is at the heart of the government's objective.
"In Chile there are currently 45 plants under construction for more than 3,900 megawatts. That's $11 billion in projects under construction and another $2 billion of transmission investment is missing," he said.
According to representatives of Ifema (organizers of the event), "Chile is an opportunity for those manufacturers and exporters of the sector who want to access the South American cone and the rest of the continent." On the other hand, they add that the facilities offered by this country for export and for its free trade agreements, constitute an additional advantage.
Within the framework of these fairs, the International Congress Trend of the Electrical, Electronic and Automation Sector "For a country with greater technology, efficiency and integral solutions" was developed, co-organized by FISA and the IEA, whose program showed the state of the art of technologies and the current problems that exist in the industry, which can be solved with innovative solutions in the fields of Electricity, Electronics and Automation. At the same time, meetings, workshops and technical-commercial talks were held, as well as a Business Roundtable that foresees more than 300 commercial meetings.
