International. The Nisa hospitals in Spain, spread over the Valencian Community, Madrid and Seville, took measures such as the renewal of air conditioning equipment for more efficient ones; improvement of energy expenditure management and control systems, including real-time consumption monitoring; replacement of conventional luminaires by LEDs, which have meant a considerable reduction in energy expenditure.
Thus, the energy bill has fallen from 22,695 kwh / bed to 19,245. This last figure represents a saving of 27% if compared with the national average of energy expenditure in Spanish hospitals that was -according to the latest data made public by the Institute for Diversification and Saving in Energy (IDAE), which depends on the Ministry of Development- of 26,460 kwh / bed. The energy saving measures implemented by Nisa Hospitals have been possible after an energy audit process developed by the Valencian company Airentis.
Monitoring: control of consumption in real time. Energy consumption represents a high annual cost for any company in its income statement. Monitoring has now become a fundamental tool to support the management and energy efficiency of companies, especially in the hospital sector, where energy consumption is especially intensive.
Nisa Hospitals has implemented a system of remote management and monitoring of energy consumption, consisting of the installation of electricity, gas and water meters at key points of the installation, as well as software for their visualization, which allows to manage and continuously monitor consumption.
