Mexico. In the Coahula region, Social Security has been reporting problems with half of the medical units, due to deficiencies in air conditioning systems.
The problem has led to discomfort in visitors, patients and workers of the clinical centers, nurseries and hospitals that the Mexican Institute of Social Security (Imss) has.
The president of the joint security sub-commission in Coahuila, Héctor Lorenzo Martínez Vélez, denounced that the Imss has not carried out regular maintenance in around 40 of the 80 units that operate in this State.
"The biggest problem we face is in Rosita, Allende, Piedras Negras and Acuña, where temperatures have exceeded 42 degrees Celsius. For this reason, we have insisted before the Insurance authorities that the work of maintenance and installation of devices where there is none be accelerated; we have recommended in some places to change the central air for mini Split since it is more modern and less expensive than the central air," said the official.
