Colombia. An investment of 800 million pesos (about US$350,000) had to be made by Grupo Aeroportuario del Caribe, concessionaire of the Ernesto Cortissoz airport in the city of Barranquilla, to repair the air conditioning system.
The air terminal presents problems due to the deterioration of three chiller machines and one more that is not in operation.
For that reason, the dealer acquired three new cooling towers and began a process of maintenance of twelve motors and pumps, cleaning of handlers and washing of air ducts. The remodeling of the system is expected to be completed in August.
The new concessionaire of the Ernesto Cortissoz airport, the Caribbean Airport Group, announced yesterday that it is making an investment of $ 800 million to optimize the air conditioning of the air terminal, due to the high state of deterioration presented by three chiller machines of the system and a fourth that is out of service.
Since 2014 travelers had expressed their discomfort with the terminal due to the high temperatures and bad smells that were occurring on the site.
