United States. The importance of the buildings and commissioning system is highlighted in the Technical Program of the 2015 ASHRAE Annual Conference. The Conference will be held from June 27 to July 1, at the Hilton Atlanta, in Atlanta, Ga.
The Technical Program of the Conference has a very strong focus on design, construction and operation of high-performance buildings, refrigeration and the annual Research Summit. Laboratories, refrigeration, fundamentals, applications, systems and equipment round out the program.
The program has about 100 sessions with more than 300 exhibitors and the presentation of 104 articles. It begins on Sunday, June 28 and ends on Wednesday, July 1. The most popular topic, in terms of submitted and scheduled sessions, is Building Operation, with the Maintenance and Optimization/Commissioning tracks, with 18 sessions.
"This represents almost 20% of the sessions at the conference and certainly reflects the degree to which operation, maintenance and commissioning are now recognised as the most cost-effective way to save money on utilities and also as a key factor in keeping buildings comfortable. Another indicator of interest in these topics is the sponsorship of the 14 seminars/working sessions and forums on this subject by 17 different technical committees and working groups. Attendees will learn the latest in remote fault sensing, big data analytics, instrumentation for efficient operation, load projection and more traditional topics such as steam system aids," said David Claridge, conference director.
