International. Celebrating 40 years in business, Bristol Compressors International, Inc., a producer of compressors for use in air conditioning, heat pump and refrigeration systems, plans to add 110 full-time jobs this spring.
Bristol Compressors, which has 628 full-time employees at its headquarters in Virginia, United States, will first move 50 temporary workers to permanent positions. Another 60 jobs were added at the end of April, bringing the number of full-time positions to 738 at Bristol headquarters.
"This is a two-phase acceleration of our operations in Bristol," said Rick Nunley, executive director of human resources for Bristol Compressors. "We will immediately begin the process of transitioning our temporary full-time workers, while the second phase of adding personnel in the areas of machining, materials, quality and assembly is completed by the end of April."
The additional jobs will support increased international and domestic demand for the company's products, according to Joel Moseley, senior vice president of marketing and sales for Bristol Compressor.
"The global air conditioning market is evolving rapidly, and it is critical that Bristol Compressors continues to invest in new products to support these changes," says Ed Gniewek, CEO of the company. "There are global mechanisms to reduce emissions, and the next one on the slate is to identify new Low Global Warming Potential (LGWP) refrigerants."
