United States. DOE's (Department of Energy) Home Energy Score Program has recognized a selection of NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certifications, among others, to qualify as a minimum requirement for those interested in becoming Home Energy Score Evaluators.
Accepted NATE credentials are certifications in the following specialties:
- Air Conditioning
- Heat pumps
- Heating Gas
- Heating Oil
- Gas Hydronics
- Oil Hydronics
In addition, DOE announced the launch of Home Energy Score simulation training, a new online simulation tool that offers free training and testing for individuals interested in providing the Home Energy Score – an assessment of energy efficiency and standard scoring generated only by qualifying professionals.
