International. DuPont's R513A refrigerant, considered DuPont's lowest global warming potential (GWP) and replacing R134a, will be included in Trane's new air-cooled chillers.
The refrigerant, which is known on the market as Opteon XP 10, will be available as an option in Trane's recent technology called Synthesis. This option will be available in the North American and Latin American markets from June.
R513A is a binary mixture of R134a (44%) and R1234yf (56%). It has a GWP of around 630 and leads to ASHRAE's A1 safety rating. The Synthesis covers capacities from 300kW to 1500kW, features a micro-channel condenser coil, flooded evaporator, EC fans and ventilation diffusers.
