International. Sales of distribution companies are on the rise, according to the most recent monthly trend report shared by the International Association of Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors (HARDI).
Average sales growth for HVAC/R guild distributor members increased by 15% in September. Annualized growth to September is now at 6.9% and at the high end of the 7.6% range for 2014.
"The 15% increase in September was the best monthly performance this year," said Brian Lotus, market researcher and benchmarking analyst. "This is only the eighth time in the last five years that average monthly sales growth has been 15% or higher."
In addition, six of the seven reported regions experienced double-digit growth. "A positive factor for September's results was the strong third-quarter performance of GDP," said Danielle Marceau, an economist. "Production increased by 0.88% from the second quarter. This was the second strongest increase between a second to third quarter in the last decade."
