Colombia. José Luis Restrepo, belonging to the Technology and Optimization Projects Unit of Public Enterprises of Medellín, will present in the framework of RefriAméricas 2014 the Thermal District Project for the Government Buildings of the La Alpujarra Administrative Center.
The Thermal District (SDT) project is an urban distribution system that produces steam, hot water and ice water from a central plant and then distributes them through pipes to heat spaces (heating), to supply domestic hot water and/or for the conditioning of spaces (air conditioning).
In this case, the system will be used in the conditioning of spaces in the buildings and facilities belonging to and adjacent to the sector of the La Alpujarra Administrative Center such as the Mayor's Office of Medellín, the Government of Antioquia, the building of the Departmental Assembly, the Directorate of Taxes and National Customs DIAN, among others.
This project, unique in Latin America, is being promoted by Empresas Públicas de Medellín, the Ministry of the Environment of Colombia through the Ozone Technical Unit – UTO and the Secretary of State for Economic Affairs of the Swiss Government – SECO.
The talk in which this topic will be addressed is part of the Academic Program of RefriAméricas and will be held on Thursday, June 5 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Plaza Mayor Convention Center.
