Argentina. With around 300 people (mostly from Argentina), and visitors from Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Spain and Japan, a new edition of the American Congress of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technologies (Cataar 2013) was held.
The event that took place on September 5 and 6 had an opening ceremony with the presence of William Bahnfleth, President of ASHRAE, Eng. Heinrich Stauffer, President of the Chilean Chamber of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, and the President of the Argentine Cold Association, Eng. Roberto R. Aguiló.
At the beginning of the technical program, Dr. William Bahnfleth, who is also a lecturer, addressed the topic of the integration of Indoor Air Quality and Energy Efficiency in Buildings. Subsequently, Eng. Aguiló gave a clear description of the characteristics of Refrigeration Design in Different Industrial Plants.
Later, Mr. Montgomery spoke about the Technical Principles for Building Commissioning. On the second day, the workshop on Commissioning in Argentina was held, led by Eng. Chamorro, simultaneously, in another room, other presentations were developed with topics on refrigeration. Eng. Germán Parola spoke about "Considerations to avoid the formation of ice in evaporators", Eng. Eduardo Drigo on "Different types of CO2 Installations" and Eng. Alessandro Da Silva explained the "Commissioning and operation of plants with CO2".
In this same room, the certificates were delivered to the Technicians in Installation and Operation of Commercial Refrigeration Systems, who passed the exam on the previous date.
At noon on Friday, the Showroom of sponsoring companies of CATAAR was inaugurated and the event ended with the dissertation of Engineers Jorge Castro and Ramón Bacardit, who spoke about Indirect Freecooling in Clean Rooms and Data Center. Technical commercial talks were also held.
