Venezuela. A new resolution of the national government indicates that refrigeration equipment for the domestic and commercial sector that is manufactured or imported must comply with the new technical regulation that will come into force at the beginning of next year.
As revealed by the local newspaper El Mundo, resolution No. 089-13 establishes the Energy Efficiency Indexes (IEE) of the equipment, and also requires that all devices be subjected to a classification before being marketed.
This plan seeks to improve the consumption of electricity in that country and encourage efficient equipment. Manufacturers and importers must now register with the National Autonomous Service of Standardization, Quality, Metrology and Technical Regulations (Sencamer) to obtain the "Energy Efficiency Declaration" that will be valid for one year with renewal.
The accepted equipment will be identified with a label with the name "Energy" that includes information such as energy consumption per month, product classification, power and with the endorsement that indicates compliance with the requirements.
