Mexico. In order to reduce the ecological footprint and in accordance with the Montreal Protocol, DuPont, in collaboration with its distributor Refri Reyno, made the change of refrigerant in the DuPont facilities located in Guadalajara (Jalisco), Culiacán (Sinaloa) and Reynosa (Tamaulipas).
DuPont was in charge of providing the necessary technology to perform the adaptation in the systems. The work was carried out on direct expansion air conditioning handling units, using isceon MO29 refrigerant (HFC).
The UMA (Air Handling Unit) is used in warehouses for processes considered critical. In this case, these equipment have two compression circuits and a system for dehumification by means of hot gas.
The multinational also refurbished the air conditioning equipment for the Corporate's facilities in Mexico City, which was achieved in collaboration with another of its distributors: Refrigeración Starr.
The Reconditioning of R-22 (HCFC) to HFC was carried out in 15 Chillers of 10 tons with 2 Scroll type compressors. These types of products are fully aligned with the Montreal Protocol. In this case, there was a nominal energy saving of 25% and a reduction in costs of up to $50,000 dollars.
DuPont refrigerant is simple to convert, fast and compatible in most cases with AM, AB and POE oil types. It replaces R-22 in a wide range of evaporation temperatures, so it can be used in applications such as supermarkets, conservation chambers, among others, without damaging the ozone layer.
