Bitzer confirms opening of new plant

altUnited States. The Bitzer Group reported that it opened a new plant in Atlanta, Georgia, for the production of semi-hermetic reciprocating compressors.

Bitzer USA has been manufacturing products in this city for the North American market since 2005. The company says production growth has been very positive, with annual production levels increasing up to tenfold by 2012. Therefore, having reached its capacity, the company decided to build a new building in the immediate vicinity of the existing factory. It is expected that by the end of the year the machines in the new building will have been installed and put into service. The 9,000-square-foot factory, built on a 32,000-square-meter plot of land belonging to Bitzer, employs 130 employees who produce the reciprocating compressors. The short distance from the existing facilities is a great advantage as the company is now establishing a training and development centre there.
