United States. In New York, a method of controlling window-type air conditioning systems is being implemented that also works remotely in order to obtain lower costs and save more considerable energy.
The program is called CoolNYC and was managed in partnership with ThinkEco (manufacturer of energy-saving products) and ConEd (Electrical Service Provider).
The program encourages the use of a so-called Modlet (smart plug manufactured by ThinkEco) so that in the use of window air conditioning units it allows New Yorkers not only to monitor the air conditioning with their smartphone, but also to control it remotely.
Remote monitoring is done through an application that can be downloaded from the iPhone and Android stores to sync it with the device.
The incentive of the program is to give each participant who implements it a gift for US$25.
