United States. The Mitsubishi Electric US Cooling & Heating Division reported that it has nine systems that qualified for the designation for the highest efficiency in 2013 that Energy Star grants to the products with the highest rank on this special feature.
Energy Star is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy created to save consumers money and protect the environment through energy-efficient products and practices.
The following are the units that qualified for the designation this year:
MUY/MSY-GE Cooling System: Capacities of 9,000, 12,000 and 15,000
MUZ/MSZ-GE heat pump: capacities of 9,000, 12,000 and 15,000.
Heat pump (Hyperheating) MUZ/MSZ-FE (Hyper-Heating): Capacities of 9,000, 12,000 and 18,000.
Residential and commercial systems use environmentally friendly R410A refrigerant and are made from 80% recyclable components. The residential M-Series offers ratings of up to 26 SEER.
