Brazil. The eighth International Congress of Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Heating and Ventilation, Mercofrío 2012, to be held from September 11 to 13 in Porto Alegre, brings this year the Mercofrio Energy Efficiency Contest 2012.
The competition aims to develop the concept of sustainability with the realization of projects based on energy efficiency.
The winner will be the one who manages to develop with the EnergyPlus software the lowest annual energy consumption in a building chosen by Asbrav. "This is a real competition between the best techniques to combine thermal comfort and energy saving," say the organizers.
The prize for the winning team is $5,000 reais (about $2,500). The deadline for registration is until August 28.
