Brazil. The climate and the greater purchasing power of Brazilians will benefit the air conditioning industry in that country, according to the Asociación Sur Brasileña de Refrigeración, Aire Acondicionado, Calefacción y Ventilación (Asbrav) which expects a growth in sales of 10% in the winter of 2012.
The association's forecast is based on the fact that this year the winter is likely to be much more intense than in 2011, in addition to the improvement of the local economy that allows consumption in greater quantities.
The technical director of Asbrav, Juan Carlos Antoniolli, commented that this year there is a trend in the commercialization of ecological heaters: "Using normal pharmacy alcohol as fuel, the team is gaining a good share in the heater market."
Asbrav also explained that the purchase of the heaters is occurring at all levels of Brazilian society, mainly in the south and southwest of the country, both in the residential and commercial markets.
"Companies, for the most part, are looking for electric heaters installed with Fan Coil, which inflate the treated air through ducts. Another popular option in the residential and commercial sector is the adoption of the reverse cycle system (hot and cold) available in window and split air conditioners which, compared to electric heaters, will provide a great advantage in reducing energy consumption," concludes the Asbrav report.
