Brazil. The Southern Brazilian Association of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Ventilation (ASBRAV) indicated that due to the expansion of enterprises in the southern region of the country, commercial establishments will buy more air conditioning equipment in the summer.
According to the association, sales of air conditioning equipment are no longer only in the residential sector; in the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Paraná, for example, a 15% increase is expected compared to last year in sales destined for commercial establishments.
The increase in sales in the market of the southern states may be higher than the average of the Brazilian market, which will grow by about 7%, that is, less than projected in that region.
"The commercial segment has stagnated in recent years, however the expectation in 2012 is much better, taking into account the great expansion of commercial establishments," said the president of ASBRAV, Luiz Afonso Dias.
The equipment destined for the commercial sector during the summer brings together Multi-Split, Self Contained, Chiller and VRF systems; while the residential sector demands window equipment and splits with a capacity of up to 60 thousand BTU.
