Mexico. During the last World Summit on the Future of Energy (WFES), Jordy Herrera Flóres, secretary of the Energy Portfolio of Mexico, reported that the goal of replacing 1.9 million refrigerators and air conditioning equipment that have more than 10 years of use with more modern and efficient equipment has been set for this year.
This meeting was held in Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates, where the official also announced the project to change free of charge 45.8 million incandescent bulbs for saving lamps.
In the contest Herrera Flóres highlighted everything that has been achieved from the federal administration of Mexico City such as actions of legal and regulatory changes, investments and promotion of the energy transition throughout Mexico.
As the opening ceremony of the WFES, un Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon launched the "International Year of Sustainable Energy for All", another initiative towards the path of caring for the environment.
