Mexico. Japanese supplier of car heating, ventilation and air conditioning units, Denso, will invest US$57 million in the construction of a new plant in Guanajuato.
The works of the plant would start in March 2012 to be in operation in the month of October 2013. Denso has two plants in Nuevo Leon and this will be the third production center in Mexico, which will contribute to the expansion of its automotive sector.
"Mexico is a growing market and this is an opportunity for us to strengthen our competitiveness in the manufacture and sale of thermal products," said Denso President for Mexico, Tomoyuki Arakawa.
The Japanese executive reported that the goal is to offer more than 400 jobs by 2015; this new plant will cover an area of 25,600 meters.
In Guanajuato, the Asian company will produce the HVAC system and engine cooling modules. The investment aims to expand the company's capacity to meet the demand of its customers in the United States and Canada.
The Japanese company has as customers brands such as Ford, Nissan, General Motors, Honda, Toyota and Chrysler, has more than 123,000 workers and 187 production sites in the world.
